Secrets to Creating Your Own Garden Home: P. Allen Smith’s 12 Principles of Design

P. Allen Smith is a gardening authority who inspires, educates and motivates gardeners across the country through his entertaining presentations, books and television appearances. Join P. Allen Smith for a personally guided tour in garden design from his early experiences to his own Garden Home. In his presentation, Allen shares his 12 basic principles of design to create private sanctuaries that embody the key elements of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. In his recently published book, P. Popular Floral Designer Ron Morgan Returns to the Flower Show!

Certain to be the hottest ticket in town, distinguished floral designer and author, Ron Morgan, makes a return appearance to the Cincinnati Flower Show to share his talent and humorous anecdotes with audiences. "Ron is one of the most entertaining and knowledgeable speakers we’ve had at the Flower Show -- audiences love him!" raves Linda Schlegel, Events Coordinator for the Flower Show. Mr. Morgan, who designed window displays for Harrod’s in London, has impressed lecture and garden club audiences with his wit, knowledge and unparalleled creative talents for over 20 years. He has owned retail floral and antique shops, consulted as an interior designer, conducted flower arranging classes and he has become a highly sought-after speaker at garden club events around the world. Through his creative use of fruits and vegetables, and other unusual plant materials and containers, he has the unique ability to turn ordinary items into exquisite, artfully arranged masterpieces. His tablescapes are legendary for their creativity, elegance and visual impact.

‘Behind the Scenes at Biltmore Estate: Preserving Frederick Law Olmsted’s Landscape Legacy’ with Parker Andes: As the Director of Horticulture for Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, Parker Andes’s horticulture experience and extensive knowledge of gardening covers a vast array of topics from basic landscaping facts to historic garden restoration. Mr. Andes will present ‘Behind the Scenes at Biltmore Estate: Preserving Frederick Law Olmsted’s Landscape Legacy’ in an interactive format at the 15th anniversary Cincinnati Flower Show presented by Provident Bank. Known as the father of modern landscape architecture, Frederick Law Olmsted not only designed the spectacular grounds and gardens surrounding Biltmore Estate, but he also designed New York’s Central Park and the campuses of Yale, Stanford and Boston University. This enlightening presentation will appeal to the advanced gardener as well as the novice. Mr. Andes’s rich background in working with historic landscapes, includes Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania and Callaway Gardens in Georgia.
