Art Takes Root
Art is in the air as the Grand Marquee is transformed into ‘A Living Canvas’ bringing to life Claude Monet’s Gardens at Giverny in a stunning re-creation Spotlight Garden entitled, Inspired by Art...An Artist’s Home, by Midwest Landscape Network and Flower Framers. A facade inspired by the village of Giverny, serves as the backdrop to a stucco and timber rendition of Monet’s garden home surrounded by spectacular floral gardens designed by Tracey Meade Designs. Laid out like a painting, the gardens feature a grand allee planted with over 1,000 Siberian irises, a paintbox garden with butter colored pansies, daffodils and Irises, and blushing pink flowering crabtrees throw dazzling color into the air.
Experience a Feast for the Senses
Experience a unique new sensation as you are drawn into Splendid Spaces, a breathtaking exhibit presented by Closson’s, where designers’ talents create a room by room collection of flowers, antiques, art and furnishings. Bringing the outdoors inside, a peaceful woodland bedroom adorned with living quilts of foliage atop lush floral carpets evoke peaceful dreams. Urns brimming with brilliant flower hues rest on an elegant veranda living room merging interior spaces with the outdoors. Landscape architects, interior designers, and other ‘outside-the-box’ thinkers showcase their the best designs in these captivating rooms.
Fairy Magic
Step into the enchanted realm of fairies in The Primrose Garden, created by Minnesota-based designer, Kathryn Swenson of Gnomenculture, Inc., which celebrates spring’s first floral bloom with the charm of a magical fairy garden. Miniature English Boxwoods ring the centerpiece fairy garden fountain and a gentle waterfall flows into a peaceful stream while sprightly garden fairies dance playfully in this teeny charmed garden.
All Aboard!
The Hamilton County Park District invites you to revisit the splendor of childhood in A Wizard’s Garden, a magical setting blending together the world of trains with the fantasy world of storybook tales amidst the pristine beauty of enchanting gardens. Only natural materials such as bark, branch, leaf and seed pod are used to construct the scenes and to create endless details. This truly unique conception is cleverly interpreted by award-winning landscape architect, Paul Busse of Applied Imagination.
For Art’s Sake
Art marries horticulture with mesmerizing results at the newly expanded Artists’ Studio. The region’s most accomplished artists receive rave reviews for their cutting-edge, horticulturally inspired sculptures, paintings, pottery and ceramics. Situated along the banks of lovely Lake Como, visitors will encounter impressive sculptures and pottery pieces as they stroll among the imaginative works. A select group of "plein-air" artists on the grounds will feature their art work available for purchase.
The Language of Flowers
Learn the language of flowers when you travel through the International Exhibit of the Amateur Flower Show. Fascinating cultural artifacts and authentic dress from Japan, Pakistan, Scotland, Africa, Egypt, India and Scandinavia inspire beautiful amateur floral arrangements. Highlights include a dazzling Indian wedding scene which sets off the vibrant red and yellow flower creations; and spectacular African ceremonial apparel complement exquisite floral displays. The language of flowers bridges cultures and unites us in our love of nature.
There’s Even More...
Cutting edge and exquisite, Dramatic Table Settings, sponsored by Haberer Registered Investment Advisor, Inc. and Tiffany & Co., features floral centerpieces, lavish accents and eclectic combinations which transform tables into breathtaking tablescapes.
The Window Boxes exhibits presented by Pella, and the Container Garden exhibits are perennial favorites which return with brilliant designs for the 2004 Show.
Country Living GARDENER’S Ask the Experts, presents gardening demonstration tips and a Q&A session. Gardener’s Market features over 100 vendors from across the country, and the ever-popular Plant Market is bigger than ever before with a wide selection of flora.
